Public Information Officer/Community Liaison

Serves as the primary communications link between an origination and the larger community including the media, special interest groups, and the general public. They prepare news releases and other public statements; assist administrators in preparing public statements or presentations; assists with presentations before legislative or other policy making bodies; assists in the presentation of a agency’s budget proposal; provides consultation to agency officials regarding media and public comments; communicates an agency’s goals, activities and achievements to both an internal and external audience; serve as spokespersons during crisis or emergency situations.
